I hate my tree branches but I’ve bought 3 or 4 script liner brushes and not happy with any of them. I don’t like my reflections in the mid-ground but I like the ones in the foreground. Overall, it’s not my favorite but I don’t hate it. Just wish my tree branches were better.
I also find the liner brush so hard to use. I’ve bought a dagger brush and find that easier for tree branches and long grass. Probably not as good at jagged branches like Bob but I got fed up of everything turning out like a cactus.
Great blending here!
Looks great!!!
Love the way the sky looks, so soft and colorful. And the reflections are nice.
I use a da vinci nova syntetics brush series 1270, no.2 for branches and grass and other details. I simply love that brush.

I turn painting sky side down sometimes to paint branches as generally they grow up to the sky for most of the trees. Gravity helps a lot with brush movement. Most of the time when I paint in proper orientation I am unhappy with bare trees.
Another note I paint branches with linseed oil as it does not cut through paint layers.
Maybe something of it will be helpful.
