Really beautiful Matt, lots of depth and color. I don’t know the first thing about the linen canvases. What can you share about them?

@happyisland - check the articles in community there is basic set of info about different textile of canvas.
Pretty much in general cotton is a smoother one, however weave of linen can be smooth, medium and rough. Also most important is what quality of gesso applied and how many layers to smooth the surface. Every painting style may need different roughness if the weave. On the top of textile there is gesso (please forgive for omitting intermediate layers). Some of the “gesso” (it is not a proper word, but everyone understands what that is) may be oil or acrylic in nature meaning different feel when working with oil paint on top of it. Low quality primer=gesso sips oil and makes application of paint harder meaning it maybe impossible to spread the color in a thin even layer.

Yes, love what you did with the mountain colors! I have also never tried a linen canvas but after trying many different cotton brands, I have found one that I do love. It is smooth medium tooth (triple gesso), blends fabulously, better than BR brand and has a gallery wrapped edge. The Edge All Media Cotton Deluxe Stretched Canvas 11/16" Deep. I get them from Jerry's Artarama. The 18 x 24 size runs about $12 each and 8 x 10 are about $5, so a medium price range. Anyway just my 2 cents :) for those who are interested.
