If you need practice making evergreens this is the painting for you. I enjoyed doing this one. Added a few red and indian yellow bushes to help break up all the green.
Thanks Alex. And yea I did a line of pines with gesso (along with the bottom of the canvas). Then I put on the liquid white followed by phthalo blue for the sky.
That's a neat way to add a simple and effective background. I'll have to try that.
Yep that's what Bob says too. Especially on the paintings where not much sky is showing.
