Painting No 21 in my journey. Decided to have a go at doing it using just the browns as Bob shows at the end of the episode. Much better than my first attempt at it and I really like the feel of this colour palette.
I like that my hut actually looks structurally viable and I felt I did quite well on getting the snow to break on the mountain. I still struggle with highlighting trees/brushes. A work in progress...
Thanks. It is just Dark Sienna and white. We don’t have Burnt Umber in the UK apart from the wildlife oils and I think these are a softer consistency.
It's absolutely beautiful. I love b&w, but I've always loved sepia tones more. Your painting reminds me of the gorgeous photographs of yesteryear.

Did you still use VanDyke Brown, or just the Burnt Umber and Titanium White?
