I have quite a bunch of recycled canvasses gathered, which are all repainted with black gesso, so lots of my future Ross paintings might be black gesso minded.
This one was chosen for its purple colouring. Bob advised to use more red in the purple, I decided against that just to make some distinction and I feel that blue/gray fits better in this scenery.
Canvas used was a recycled 12"x16". Nothing too difficult here or it might be to counter the urge to fully fill that stream with pebbles!!
Please enjoy!
Great painting! It was a good choice with those colors and I really like the foreground trees!
Very nice job on this
Thank you Joha, recently learned the secret/trick behind those waterfalls and it works. The trick is to add liquid white and to use a 1 inch brush fro bigger falls.
Tom, nothing would please me more then to be the inspiration of your Ross' transpiration.
Thanks Anna, very cheerful commemnt!
The blue/gray tone I chose matches so well with my choice of bush and tree highlights. I just couldn't handle another creation drowned in red/purple.
The big trees were a joy, thanks to the hint of Bob to highlight part of the trunks, which I did with a scriptliner and carefully made the lighter colour blend with the darker colour.
Matt, I'm convinced you would make a great painting of this recreation as well! We would be dazzled!
I really like your color choices here. The background is subtle and draws the eye to the stream. I recently painted this as also. It is a fun painting.
Love the bushes, the little white tree and the small waterfalls in front. Beautiful painting Voy!
Hi Lori, so happy you like this one. I bet your version is stunning as well, hope to see it uploaded soon!
The background was way to empty so I was really pleased that Bob decided late in the painting, to put three extra trees in. I happily followed him with that yet took great caution not to overdo the foliage. I guess I found the right balance of open and filled space.
The colours went into magic almost by their own, although I believe the liquid clear had a big hand into that as well!
Hehe, making me blush here with your comment Umagaan!
Recently I do good with falls, has all to do with the load of paint and the correct brush to use. For that fall stream, it really helped to get quite some pebbles/rocks in there, really putting an accent to that water!
Till next one!
Absolutely stunning! For a second there, I thought this was my own version of Purple Haze - I think it speaks of your ability to reproduce Bob Ross' art with high fidelity!
Indeed Shadow, your version is rather similar to this one, I wasn't aware of that till you pointed it out!
I do follow Ross as much as possible yet learned the past months that not all of his colours and tree composition is to my liking, so like to go my own way here and there, as I did with this creation where I changed the one from red/purple to blue/purple, and with success I might say!
Thank you so much for loving this one!!!
