As usual, I'm pretty happy with the background. Believe it or not the bushes and trees are better than normal for using a 1inch brush. I have a question for more seasoned painters. When using a black canvas and covering in a color like alizarin crimson in this painting, do you thin the crimson before applying it to the canvas? If so, how do you thin it? It is so hard to get the canvas covered with normal paint!
Joha59's option is a good one indeed. Use some linseed oil (can even be mixed with the oil paint on a palet) to thin the oil paint and apply it, it will go a lot smoother!
Success, and yes, your bushes are outstanding in this painting!
Thanks for the feedback - I'll try that next time!

Very, very nic colours. Mostly I cover the whole surface with a little bit of linseed oil, just a little bit, then the crimson. But I think you cannot improve this one!
