Riverside Escape Oval

dracula 13 Feb 2021

This one went really quickly. Just over two hours. I used a lean oil medium for the breakout tree to help make the paint on bare canvas behave a little more in line with the parts over liquid white inside the oval.

Very nice. I've written this before, but you definitely have your own style going. I knew this was yours immediately. Always appreciate the natural skies, subtle distant hills, and even subtler (and gorgeous) reflections. It looks like your oval making is also getting progressively cleaner as time goes on! How did you feel breaking that oval? Clever idea using the medium there. It does feel kind of strange when you're painting outside the oval and begin to feel some resistance.

How do you do the oval cutout. This is so nice.

What a beautiful piece of work its unbelievable how there are two paintings in one. Really like how the scenery from the back takes you into another world from the tree outside the oval. Great work!!

Everything is so nice! I especially love your grass and your branches.
