Snowy Solitude

dracula 23 Jan 2021

I didn't really know what to expect from this one, but it turned out to be a little different and more subtle than some others I've worked on. It was a lot more fun than I think I had anticipated.

Holy cow! I really like this picture. Seeing the contour of the terrain, the details in the treetops and just the depth of the painting. Very good job. I've only done 5 paintings so far. Unfortunately, I'm now a creative person, so I just follow along and paint with Bob. But I enjoy it :)

ok, so this is the one i did first, may I ask you why you chose to not put in the shore on the water? I love how you got the snow all piled up with the shadows.

Very beautiful! You can definitely imagine the cold and quiet.

This one makes me cold just looking at it! It's great!

Love the brushstrokes in the snow and their thick texture! Great color choices!

Stunning! The depth is amazing!

Love the icy feel in this painting!

All the definition is dazzling: sticks, leaves, drifts. I can see how much distance you can create with very slight changes in colour in the mid-ground, beyond the trees.
