Any suggestions on how to blend clouds without leaving brush strokes?

If you use oils are you doing wet on wet? Your cloud blending can be done in several way, Bob sometimes applies the white with a fan brush, sort of tickling the canvas, then with a clean brush Bob blends and smooths his.
