Painted on 16" x 20" canvas. I did this painting with the intention of giving it away as a Christmas gift. I thought the water was harder to do than Bob made it look, and I actually had to redo mine.
GMR let me share a trick. For water to look flowing it would be to ensure that all brush strokes to lay water surface are horizontal (as bottom/top of canvas) no matter how wavy the creek. Reflections would be done with vertical brushstrokes always.
Thanks Voy. I recommend giving this one a try. It's a lot of fun. Black canvases are quickly becoming some of my favorites. I want to take elements of this painting and another of Bob's, and combine them into something different.
Thanks for the tip Sunnylady. Its definitely a technique I need to practice. I plan on doing a variant of this painting, and we'll see how it goes.

This is a great painting! It warmed my interest to have a go at this one as well.
