Mountain Retreat

Umagaan 06 Dec 2020

I had a really difficult time with this one. The mountain just didn't want to turn out the way I wanted it to. I had trouble with all the big trees, especially with the leafy one, and I redid it about four times before I was satisfied (and fed up) enough to stop. I ran out of room for the cabin. Maybe I'll do it some other time. I wasn't sure if I should pain the waterfall but in the end it turned out really well and is probably my favorite thing in the painting, along with the sky and the water.

Well worth the effort though. I like the clarity and simplicity of it.
