Snowfall Magic

JMK57 04 Dec 2020

About halfway through I didn’t think it was going to happen and I almost gave up. I’m glad I didn’t, because I think this is one of the best things I’ve painted lately!

Your trees surely improved!
This is a magical painting to do. There are two more similar ones than this if you are interested.

It looks great. Your falling snowflakes are really nicely done. How did you get them to look like that? I've tried flicking paint off a brush with a knife to do a starry sky but it never looks right, the specks of paint are often elongated whereas yours are more rounded.

I just did it the way Bob showed in the video. I made sure my paint was thin, but not runny. Maybe it has to do with the distance away from the canvas? I was about a foot away from the canvas.

Yes you could be right, I could have been doing it too close. Thanks for the advice.

JMK has a good point there, it is indeed necessary to have the paint not running at all. You can always try it on some piece of cardboard first, it's what I do!
Concerning the distance, a foor is a very good measure! I take between a foot and one and a half foot and I am happy with that!

Very Nice. I saw the original and the colors are very close and capture the spirit of the painting.
