Painted on a 20 x 16 canvas. I added a few more cactus to the landscape, giving them some friends and the rock I used a knife with what I believe is good results. I signed it in white because I had some left over and did not feel like getting any red out. I believe this is my second attempt at this one, the first one looked bad and I painted over it.
It’s a tough painting for acrylic users so you should be proud. I think I redid my sky about 3-4 times and I’m still not entirely pleased with how it came out. I really like how you did the shaping of the land. The shadow and highlights really make it pop..
Felix has a point about the cacti. They are further away than the mountain and yet are still quite large in relationship to it. Those would end up being redwood tree sized cacti - I like that idea actually. Giant terrifying cacti would be awesome. But if you weren’t going for that then just remember to keep things proportional :)
I covered up two of the cacti on the left hand side with a rock mesa because I did not man for them to be so large. Sometimes the brushes have a mind of their own.
They do don’t they! That is one really nice thing about acrylics - if you don’t like it just wait 5 minutes for it to dry and paint over it. I will miss you giant redwood forest cacti!
Moai this is lovely just the cactus are large in the back compared to the mountain but happy accidents make one learn. You keep up the good work

I really like the colors in your mountain, great pick there. But I think you went a little too large on the cacti in the backgorund. Those are massive in relation to the mountain
Great sky!
