I really enjoyed this one, though I am not sure about my dirt shore on the right.
Thank you. I don’t have very nice paints and have wondered if firmer paints would help alleviate the mud problem I have. I think my next tubes of paint will be the Bob Ross paints.
Yes, firm paints are best for this technique. However, thinning down your paint for your top layer/highlights and using gentle pressure helps it to stick without creating mud. It takes practice.

I have trouble with those too. Usually by the time I've got the dirt on then the highlight on top of that it gets too muddy to add the foliage and it does look better when foliage hangs over the edge. I'm going to try marbling the dirt shore with 2-3 colours in one single layer before adding the foliage, that might help. Shorelines can make or break a painting can't they. I think you've done a good job of this painting. The variation of height on your distant trees is very effective.
