A paiting I started for a friend. This is my second painting ever done in oils. It was a bit challenging for myself and I ended up letting this dry and started over with acrylic. I wish I had the patience for oils..and possibly the funds so i could purchase better paints.
Never an easy one, this creation from Bob!
Try looking for budget stores Lil, that sell quality oils (Winsor & Newton, Van Gogh, etc...). There are a few around and you might get most oil colourss for half the price (works for me in Belgium!).
Looks great! I like the colors
Someone in the forum section mentioned to check ebay.
Thank you everyone. I believe I may have some oils coming my way for my birthday coming her in Oct but I will keep my eyes posted! I have some Bob products like his liquid clear/white but none of his actual oils. That is ideally what I would like to use. I am interested to see how the consistency is different than what I am currently using.
Bob's oils are great stuff, specially colourwise, but are that little more fluid then other quality brands. Personally, I prefer a more solid paint (mountains!) so I buy 'Winsor & Newton' and sometimes 'Van Gogh'. Those are much cheaper as well!
Maybe you can find a bargain at Walmart. Some stores sell Bob Ross material.
Success!
Yes Ebay! I got a ton of stuff at a fraction of the price. Some people start a hobby, lose interest and sell it on barely used. Other local sites where you can buy used items are a good source too. Familiarise yourself with the forum, articles and other parts of this site where you'll find lots of information that will help you. I learn something almost every time I log on.
