I painted this 2 years ago, this picture has a lot of challenges, that I’d like to try again...
I mean I know this is what color in video, but you feel free to go on your own.
Thanks Sunnylady, this photo was taken in a darkNovember evening, artificial light has distorted the colour a little!
I will definitely make it more of a purple/ blue to contrast with the orange/peach sky.
Sorry NKav, I was talking about mountain in the middle. The one that has black color. This dark color ruins composition and moves that black mountain visually forward even closer than the trees on the foreground. The light the photo is taken is not bad at all, the problem is in the color choice that Bob did for that black mountain that ruins otherwise beautiful painting.
Check the first photo on this first link below. The mountain conditions are quite close.

Yes, so was I! The first pics in your Colorado mountain have the purple/blue tone, although they are wooded.
Sorry but I couldn’t get the second link to work.
The second link I was worried if it would work. Anyway the first one was wonderful brown mountains. It turns out not that easy to find on Google at sunset time. Sorry misunderstood you first time that we both were talking about the same mountain.
Looking forward for more paintings from you!

Just one advice - certainly go for it! But dont make that mountain so black. Make it purplish a bit.
