I second the importance of that creeping, underlying feeling of dissatisfaction as a driving force. I have a general rule I try to abide by with my paintings. I like using it as a distress tolerance technique to just relax and have a good time, but I also like to push myself and try more challenging paintings to continually grow as a painter. A healthy mix of both has been really important for me. This is a really nice painting. There's something about the limited palette that I find quite striking. I also particularly like those silver streaks in the sky.
