Cabin at Sunset

What do you use for digital painting? Some special tablet? You got some absolutely beautiful textures here on the cabin and on the tree on the left.

Hey @Sunnylady! Thanks a lot :) I use iPad with the Apple pencil and an app called "Sketchbook" by Autodesk. The app has some really nice brush options that lets you choose these textures and colors for the elements in the painting. Hope that helps!

Yes, to some extent, absolutely! Digital definitely takes away the hard work with paints, and in turn adds the challenge on how well I am able to use the brushes and textures available to me on the app. For some elements, I still prefer acrylic though, for example, the evergreen trees turn out best with real fan brushes. Blending works best on a real canvas. It's a cool experiment with digital once in a while though, especially when I run out of canvases or am lazy some days to work with paint. ;)

I have sketchbook installed on my phone but it does not work quite well for me as my fingers obscure what I do. I certainly would need to have something more sophisticated for control. I attempted that app once and think about revisiting it again.

Yes, it's good to invest in a stylus or Apple pencil and a tablet like a Samsung or an iPad. It really elevates the experience. :)
