Felt really in the mood this morning for a landscape and since I want to complete season 24, here's my sixth of that season.
Canvas used was a high quality 12"x16" and for the first time, I used the 2" brush on most occasions. Why was I ever before afraid of that thing??
The hills were fun to do yet had severe troubles with the small evergreens (bad waver brush I'm afraid (it is a Bob Ross though!!)) and with the water. Up to that, I ended too low to show some descent mirrored images in the water but what I really want to remember from this painting is that I fully enjoyed creating it and that showed since this was done in under two hours, coffee break and major cleaning of the brushes included! Please enjoy!
Very peaceful and lovely scene!
Dear Jin, normally I am very aware of positioning on the canvas but this time, I was so fully enjoying painting along with Bob that I noticed too late I was too low! Anyway, I added a note for myself (I take personal notes of EVERY painting I make) to redo this painting in the future, with better results I am sure!
Thank you BRwatercolors, I can recommend this one since very easy to do and a joy to play with color shades! Till next one!
Voy Kay, I’ve added it to my must-do list!!!
Dear Voy Kay Taking personal note is very good idea!
BRwatercolors, I will be on the first row to watch it!!
Dear Jin, and yes, also pictures. I take about 4 to 8 pictures per painting, depending on the processes. If I ever want to redo one, I have thus a good documentation that will help me, specially with eventual troubleshooting!
Voy, I think island in the middle is great as well as foreground and those gray color rocks on the brown soil with the touch of green grass in between.
Shapes of the trees on the island are various and look like a forest!
I like the nice and soft reflection in the water as well!
Dear Sunnylady, indeed, the Island and its forest look great what had to do with a bad waver brush that in the end did create those great tree shapes. The rocks are about the best I painted so far, guess that the grey/white combination suits me better then brown/white ones or else …. it was the slighter bigger shape of the rocks that did the trick. Practice, practice, practice ….. one day perhaps I will be a good oil painter for a day! :)

Dear Voy Kay
Beautiful color. Good job!
Just One piece of advice It is better to decide the water line first.
