This is my 2nd Bob Ross painting. I had a happy little accident with the mountains. I made them far too big and prominent, so when I finished the painting they did not look like they were far in the background. They looked like they were unfinished. So instead I decided to practice my snow/shadow effect with the palette knife.
That is great advice, Aaron, thank you!

Great use of color, and your clouds look excellent.
Don't be too hard on your first few paintings. It takes time to develop the techniques. If I could offer any advice, even though Im quite new to painting myself, I would say to change the angle you pull your mountain highlights on. I see 7 main areas with the knife, and they are 45 degrees ish. If you change that to a random mix of 35-55 degrees, you achieve a very natural look. Please, don't take this as a negative :) Keep it up !!
