This has been my absolut first try of a Bob Ross painting. I found very difficult to stay confined with the paint in small areas of the palette. When I mix the colors the paint goes everywhere :(. I need to improve that. In this painting I tryed the very first time to make the snow on the montains. It was the most difficult thing especially because it was the first time, I spent most of the time with that and didn´t even get what I wanted. Also a good shape of the bushes is difficult to obtain. An other problem was blending the couds with the sky. The Bob Ross bristle brush I think is too hard. The bristles cause strong lines of paint when blending. But all in all I was very happy because finallly I´ve learned many things and the second time was much better. P.S. Invest in a good primed canvas. I bought this cheap one and as you can see is leaving bad marks on it. Especially in the sky.
Thank you for the support!
@pietrocomes , there are special things available (in USA they are sold separately from cheap canvas). I don't know the name in English but they are triangle looking pieces of wood that you insert in the corners of the stretcher (back of the canvas) and use a little bit of hammer to slightly expand by hammering them in the special holes in the corners. (see some youtube videos) . It helps to stretch textile. It should be firmly stretched before you start painting. I see your canvas is not stretched enough but the size should be big as you have middle piece.
It is a very good job and nice landscape you got. I also started with this one to try how oil behaves after acrylics and was amazed. So welcome to the world of landscapes oil painting!
For a first try it is an excellent effort! I struggled with mountains too in the beginning but now I use a ferm palette knife (as Bob recommends) iso a (too much) bendable one. It has really improved my work! Success!
Pietro, I see that spot over there. I also see that your canvas is not stretched enough. Regarding 2 inch brush. I have very thick brush for house painting which is harder than my 1 inch Bob Ross brushes. Key to fluff the clouds will be almost zero pressure.

Wow good job! You're on the right track. I really like the distance you achieved in the mountains and the dramatic lighting in the sky and in the background. Looking forward to seeing more!
