Winter Mist

Gandalf 28 Nov 2019

Totally new painter here, this is my third attempt at Bob Ross style painting.. Having said that, I think I made the mistake of putting too much liquid white on in the beginning. I was in agony city, trying to keep everything from turning into mud.
Happy little accidents to learn from! I used another Bob Ross painting tutorial to paint in the blue sky with clouds as opposed to the gray clouds. Then I ran out of titanium white towards the end. This was fun!

My thoughts: I think there is too much contrast/color in the cloud area and not enough below. Also, the clouds/mist below the mountain could be a bit more distinct. Finally, I have to work on foliage.

Pretty cold! Looks like we have to go through the mines after all...

Not bad for the third painting! it definitely has an atmosphere and feels cold and I don't know why but i was thinking about ancient Greek gods who sent cold from that far away mountain.
You'll get to specifics of the technique, practice makes perfect!

The Ring-bearer has decided! :)

Thanks Sunnylady!
