It was a crazy day... so here's my version of Bob's Campfire!
I understand that this painting starts with a layer of black gesso. The original video doesn't say this, but is there supposed to a layer of liquid clear added prior to the first coat of dark oil paint?
I covered my black canvas with a thin layer of liquid clear before the first coat of dark.
I wanted to put in a tent too. And maybe a canoe pulled up on shore. A little person asleep in the tent with their face lit up by fire light. Ah maybe someday.
A canoe! Great idea. This painting is now hanging in my cousin's cabin :)

I think you achieved a great level of clarity on a usually hazy painting. It's really nice to look at!
