Golden Glow

WhenItRainsItPours 04 Jan 2019

Those darn brown streak clouds were hard for me given it looked like I just through mud on the canvas, so I did a wipe down and got a happy accident in an ochre gold color.

So I decided to create typical clouds which ended up looking like The Nexus ribbon from Star Trek: Generations. Hey, I'm a trekkie. I stayed away from green and stuck with browns, yellows and white for highlights to make it look like the woods just outside of Des Moines where I live.

This is only my 4th painting I've ever done in my life. It is my wife's favorite so far.

I see why your wife likes it so much. You can practically feel the wind that moves the clouds like this in your hair.
The dark trees in the back really add depth to the painting. Great job! ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I love the yellow. I painted it, too, but I had trouble with the foreground.

Don't laugh, but my Imagination tells me that there are storm-serpents chasing through the sky...
