Winter Evergreens

hypercycloid 20 Nov 2024

Did this one on a smaller 11 x 14" canvas. Struggled with the clouds on this one with the fan brush. It was difficult to get them as thin as desired. Maybe a different brush would have worked better? Overall pleased with the outcome though. Actually got the paint to break for the mountains (let the white for the mountains to sit out overnight on the pallet to dry a bit first).

Beautiful work!

Beautifully done; I love the contrasting colors in your sky.

great work!

Very nice

Looks great overall, Lucas. I find it hard to get thin streaks, too, especially if the fan brush is no longer flat enough. For thin clouds, I often use a tiny amount on the edge of a palette knife or liner brush, and then very gently blend with a clean, dry 1" or 2" brush.
