My fist attempt at peaceful waters. Not crazy about how it turned out.. my colors were sloppy and my Mtn kinda smeared.. I think the shape of things turned out better than the second (which is uploaded here also) but the bushes= struggle bus…

Don't be so hard on yourself, your mountain looks fine, and you'll get better with practice.
Try to get some contrast in your bushes. Start with a really dark layer, and keep it quite dry, scrubbing it in to the canvas can help with that. When you add your lighter layer on top, it needs to really stand out against the dark. Use a light touch and add some liquid white if your highlights don't leave your brush easily with a gentle touch. Don't cover up all your dark, leave plenty of dark spaces in between each bush. Its pretty much what Bob says, hope that helps.

It is good
