You are brave trying to do a Bob Ross painting in watercolour. I’ve just started in them myself recently and they are certainly challenging. I think you’ve done a good job here. It’s moody and you are achieving depth. I like it.

Thanks, really struggling with watercolor, and can't seem to pinpoint what it is I am missing. Just using Bob Ross episodes as a base to work through the challenges. Not close to finding a style yet as I can't seem to work out the fundamentals.

In my very limited understanding of painting in watercolours, I’d say the Bob Ross technique would be difficult to apply. The order that you lay down the paint is different, for example. You usually begin with light colours and progress to medium and then shadows. Your mountain looks like you are doing this well though, so perhaps you are on top of this. You can preserve white using masking fluid or you can scrape away paint to reveal the canvas with a palette knife as long as the paint is still a bit wet.
