"After the Rain"
August 27, 2024
Oil on canvas
70x50 cm
So... This one started out as Bob's "After the Rain" because it had been on my to do list for a while now. I did however want to change the left side of the painting so the scene would resemble a spot in the nearby woods.
First I made a pretty elaborate underpainting to sort of sketch the whole thing.
Once I started painting, first Liquid Clear and then glazing some yellow and blueish colours on top of that, I decided to take a small brush (smaller than the filbert) and paint the whole scene using just the small brushes. It didn't take long before I put the book away and just painted from what I had pictured in my mind. π
And so I totally strayed away from Bob's scene... π
Let's just say it's my world. β€οΈ
The other images show the different WIP stages.
The first one is the acrylic underpainting which was made using a natural sponge and a brush.

Fabulous and terrific trees!
You elaborated on the original beautifully and the work with the small brushes was well worth the effort. Love the atmosphere you've created.
I love it!
Your world looks inviting and fabulous, Titia!
