Winter Evergreens

"Winter Evergreens"
June 22, 2024
Oil on Canvas
50x40cm

A collegue asked me if I would have a Bob Ross painting featuring evergreens. A friend of hers, another teacher, wanted to do something fun for graduation and he came up with the idea of doing a very short Bob Ross painting (the kids are actually going to draw for a couple of minutes) session and he needed a painting or other example image for it.

Since I am close to getting the "Every Season" challenge done I figured I might as well do a painting for it. And I picked this one from season 9 because it has the evergreens and I really like the colours Bob uses in this one.

I actually took inspiration from Bram Bevins (PaintWithBram https://www.instagram.com/paintwithbram/) because he has made a couple of mountain scenes using bright orange/yellow and blue.
My scene is not as vivid, but seeing Bram's paintings did make me add some more orange on the sunny side of the mountains.
And I also put some of that orange in the snow as well. I think it makes the scene look warmer, more like a sunset.

As for the "Every Season" challange, I have to do one more painting for it.
And it has to be one from season 31. :D

This is really pretty. It's also one of those occasions when I see a Bob painting but I feel uninspired to have a go at it until I see what someone else has done with it. I really like your version.

Thank you!
That is a real compliment. <3

I've actually had the same thing happen. Seeing other people's take on a certain painting makes me appreciate the original more and might even inspire me to paint it myself.

This is a beautiful version Titia! Loving the orange and blue!👍✌️

Fantastic! The mountains, and the orange in the sky, are terrific.

Thank you Cronenberg and Alex_Ander. <3

So beautiful my friend! I love your colors.

Just an FYI, Bob Ross company will give landscape certifications (CRI) in Germany in September. I am aware you live in the Netherland, but Germany is closer than America! Just thought of you when I saw that happening. 😊

Thank you Nancy! <3

Yes, thank you for posting that.
LadyGalaga also alerted me on Twitch.
I hope I can get a whole week off from school (=work) for it. If so, I'll be going!

Beautiful version Titia!

Very nice

Absolutely stunning painting Titia, so well painted, cheers

Fantastic

This is really solid. I like it a lot. The mountains in particular are fantastic. But the mid ground and foreground are really excellent as well. 10/10.

Thank you all. <3
