At Dawn's Light

TheLandscapePainter 03 Apr 2024

This was the one that got me back into painting after a long break. Not my best, not even my best version of this one but I needed something to rekindle my interest. Something new I tried was using the heel of the knife to make the long grasses. I was surprised how I could get them to bend like that and it's easy to get carried away but I'll definitely use it again.

Such pretty colors....very nice work!

Love the intensity of the colors and the shady path!

Thank you all. Your comments are interesting because colours don't come easy to me and I was hesitant to upload this one. I love painting well-trodden foot paths. They are a welcome addition to many of Bob's paintings.

Are you kidding me not your best?!!! It’s an outstanding version! I love everything about it! The depth archived is to a T! I love this compo! πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

The colors are fantastic!

Thank you Ninoum for your kind comments. Much appreciated.

Thank you joha59, the colours scared the bejeezus out of me! But I do feel that I need to try new things.

Very nice. Love your grasses. Great job.

Thanks hypercycloid, grasses made with the heel of the knife, makes them thinner than I can get with any brush.

Beautiful painting TLP, lovely lighting, cheers

Thanks Dave, I don't always pay enough attention to lighting but it makes a difference when I do.
