Okay this was my first time following along with Bob, I had to stop because I didn't have liquid clear. This was a fun painting and plan on doing it again with the liquid clear this time.
Great job! Very good depth and shape and form. These are fun paintings. I’ve done a couple versions of this one, including one using Bob’s “window” technique where it looks as though you’re looking through a window at the scene.
And yes-you can used boiled linseed oil as a substitute for liquid clear. I have done that for years. It works great.

First of all, this is very interesting as it is. Next, you don't necessarily need liquid clear. Linseed oil or painting medium work too. Just use a very thin layer then wipe it off with a paper towel. Gamblin solvent free gel is another option. Finally, you could finish this one with color. Just apply your medium and go on painting. A lot of the background work you put in will show through with sparing use of paint.
