Well I always love painting winter scenes, and especially ones involving the Northern Lights. The problems with this one were more than usual. First, contact paper. It didn't want to stick. One I overcame that issue, I had another problem in the painting: the cabin didn't want to cooperate, thus I did away with it. And finally some of the black gesso snuck under the contact paper. I solved this by extending the painting out of the borders to cover that up. :D
The best part? I love painting snow, snowy bushes and the Northern Lights themselves and this one was no different.
Overcoming adversity! The end result is really good.
It really looks like a cold, far-northern winter's night. Well painted, cheers
Really pretty!
