Have been avoiding this one due to seeming "intimidating", but i finally went into the garage and broke out the oil paints.
Background sap green should have been darker. Was having a tough time getting the light to show through.
Cad yellow was the semi-transparent hue version, so that was a battle i forgot about lol. Need to get a tube of the good stuff (although mine is the bob ross brand...)
It was fun, i enjoyed the challenge and using the oils is getting more and more familiar to me.
My "lay of the land" got wonky in the midground. I might do this one again and tweak it to make it more cohesive.
Looks very beautiful!
Pretty. <3
Speaking of transparency, I have yet to figure out how the BR brand paint indicates it.
I'm used to having little squares on the Royal Talens Van Gogh brand. White square is transparent, black square is opaque, and two other versions for semi-transparent. So I'm going by that when using my BR brand paints and by what Bob tells us in the videos.
Since I always have the Cadmium Yellow, not the hue, I never realised it was semi-transparent. LOL! Learned something new today. :-)
Those glowing backgrounds are hard. You did a good job in my opinion. I don't see any problems with lay of the land.

This is a beautiful compo KAS! I donβt see the hiccups you describe.
If you have a hard time getting the light showing thru, add a little bit of white in the center of the light source and blend it in around. It will def brighten it up some. π
