Mountain Seclusion

joha59 05 Oct 2023

It took me almost three days (I started to paint on monday morning) to get rid of the technical details in my head and to have a fresh look at the total result as a whole and I am beginning to like it a bit and had finally the guts to upload it. I used the tutorial of Paul Ranson as a guide to make this much easier version, without Bob's crazy white trees. I had to scrape off the mountains twice, there are still visible traces on the canvas, so I set it up for the third time and had to wait for the next day to put on the shadow and highlight on the mountain. The basic layer of the mountain was almost dry and my white paint broke as never before! Good for the mountain, but not for the reflections, because that was also dried, I set up again some blue for the water and tried to put in the reflections and waterlines. On wallpaper 40 x 30 cm. I think it became a cold and freezy picture, so put on your coat while watching!

I like the color scheme.

Thank you Pietro, Pam, Sandy, Brian and Abha!

Nice work, very nice mountains.

Just beautiful Jos.

Wirklich großartig,Jos . 👍🏼🇩🇪super

REALLY nice Jos. A lot to like here and it is hard to choose, but my favorite part of this is where the water meets the snow. Really well done.

Thank you Tom, Tomi, Dirk and Tony (something dark under the snow, always effictive)!

Some days you just seem to struggle for no reason but looking at this you wouldn't know you'd had any issues at all. With that amazing sky to build on you couldn't really go wrong. I agree the waters edge looks great. I've taken to zooming in on paintings otherwise you miss so much.

Hé Helen, thanks for your nice words.
