Omg, this one was so super fun to do! Probably one of my best experiences doing a painting. Definitely my favorite one so far for season 4. I never painted a saw blade in my life or used oil paint on metal so I had no idea how it was going to turn out but I am really happy the way it came out. For this, I used a 10-inch blade and luckily I happen to have a round, wooden frame it fits perfectly in. Dorothy Dent (R.I.P), was an absolute delight. Her style was different, (especially not doing it in alla prima), but it was still a really nice way to mix things up. I'm so glad Bob had her on his show.
Thank you Blondie!! :)
Looks great!
Thank you Chris! :)
Very nice! You’ve inspired me to add this one to my list. I like learning new techniques from the guest instructors. Your picture looks great.
Thank you, Mata! Yes! Do it! At first, I was nervous about doing this one, mainly because she doesn't really use the wet-on-wet technique but that metal was better to work with than expected. It definitely pushes you outside your comfort zone.
this is adorable :D this could very easily be made in to a clock, I would think...maybe without the numbers. anyway, beautiful work!
This came out so nice Cynthia!
Look at that scene!! Very well done Cynthia! I love that you actually made it on a real saw blade. I like Jeff's idea of turning into a clock.
Thank you everyone!! :) I like the clock idea, too. Didn't really think of that. I looked it up, and that seems to really be a thing. Also, this has inspired me to try doing a landscape on a "regular" hand saw blade. One of those long ones with a wooden handle. :)
