"Rippling Waters"
July 26, 2023
Oil on canvas
40x60 cm
So... this was the second time I painted this one.
And this time I used the book version of Bob's painting and it came out totally different than my smaller version.
Again I went with a still stream instead of a bubbling stream, but this has more autumn colours in it.
Since I do not have Liquid Black, and neither do I use pure black from the tube, I made my own black by mixing Alizarin Crimson and Phthalo Green. This actually created a deep dark blue which I liked. This colour also kept the rest of the colours I painted over it more vibrant.
The foreground trees gave me a headache, but in the end they turned out okay enough.
I actually tapped some of the sky colour over the half-dried foliage the next day to blur parts of it.
Why is the image so blurry though... It looks way crispier when I open it on my PC. :(

Stunning a third time! Thatβs interesting that your book one turned out different. I think the way you blended the sky is breathtaking.
