Trapper's Cabin

joha59 27 Jul 2023

This painting passed some times and I like the colors used in this scene so I wanted to give it a try. Bob was going loose with the bright red, I tried to make the trees a little less brighter then he did and I skipped the gorilla I saw in the water, on canvasboard 30 x 24 cm.

Beautiful version Jos! Your mountains are just incredible!!! You did a great job with the red. I felt the same when I painted this one. I too toned it down. Love how you added a river to the lake/pond. Very well done my friend! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Beautiful work Jos. I really like the Bill style trees.

Gorgeous scene! Love your mountains and trees!

Top Mountains and a good depthπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

Lovely painting, those mountains are sublime

Love the big trees and mountains Jos!

Thank you for all lovely comments; Nancy: the foreground bushes were a bit too much to the right and the river was born, Tomi: Bob paints some of the trees as Bill, Sandy, Dirk (NL-DE), Nivek and Brian.
I did a small correction to the roof of the cabin as you can see in the second picture and the third picture contains my sketch I mostly make before I start to paint, maybe interesting for someone.
I am also glad the most of you liked the mountains; there were super easy to paint, I used some of the yellow from the sky, which was already there, for the highlight side and the shadow was just a bit more on some places of the basic color of the mountain, I tried to give it a rough shape at the top.
