Forest River

I made the foreground tree almost comically huge so I could go into a lot of details - I piled on the paint & used thickener to make the trunk 3D. I decided against putting leaves on because I wanted emphasize the branch and make it look like the limbs are desperately reaching toward the light. This was my first 18x24. It’s all oil except for the gesso trees in the background, which is how Bob did it.
