Tempera, paper.
Clouds / sky turned out not too bad. I do need to work on my mountains though..
Thanks, tel
I do ttry to experiement with the brushes, found one that is sort of the closest to the fan brush. Will see if I can do better with it.
Agree about trees too - I am sure I can do better there, maybe have to have like a few separate sheets with just tree shares to get it right.
As for the snow on the mountains - this is my pain. I can see how absoluely beautiful mountains are in the videos. But tempera doesn't do that. I am in search of a trick to make it work (here I used a sort of "rugged knife"), but it is still far from the desired result. To ease my pain, I know it is actually not that easy with oil either, there are many factors at play to make it break exactly the right way.
Anyway, will keep trying, my main hope now is that quantity is supposed to transform into quality at some point.
Good train of thought , i never worked with anything but oils myself

Keep at it Gcp42, if i may offer a couple tips? I feel the clouds are a little "linear" make them more randomly placed and not so straight, bash the paint in and then soften them using a circular motion.
The trees need more definition, try using a fan brush ,it will work better for you. Watch how Bob makes the snow "break" on mountains, decide where the light source is coming from and use a slightly darker colour on the shaded side.....good effort, keep practiscing
