I wasn't happy with the photo quality of my prior upload so I wanted to take a better photo today in the natural light. It made all the difference and here you can see the true colors.
Thanks Marc. And glad you mentioned those distant hills. I tried hard to make sure they were done correctly.
Hey Matt, great as usual..... by the way do you use Ross paints or another brand, your paintings are always very vibrant.
Thanks Ben. I use a combo of the Bob Ross paints and Windsor Newton. Whichever is on sale when I run out haha.
Matt, your bushes are always so vibrant. Wondering what highlighting technique you use? Like Bob with the rounded corner of the brush at the top? I try to tap and lightly push up but it never looks like yours. Is your paint really thin? Just wondering.
Thanks Matt. I almost never use the 1" brush with the rounded corner technique that Bob did. I prefer the round brush and just tap the tips of the bristles in the paint. Use a decent amount of paint. And I usually have to add a touch of liquid clear to thin it down a bit.
Hmmm. That’s funny cuz I used the oval brush in my early paintings but felt like I was cheating so I kinda forced myself to use the 1 inch!! But I’ve not mastered it and always felt more comfortable with the oval brush. So I’m going back to it. Thanks Matt!!
Oval or round brush? I don't use the oval much if at all

Sorry, I meant the large round brush!
Your work has gotten ridiculous matt! You’re one of my favorites!! This piece is so crisp and done perfectly!
You make some of the best evergreens in the game!
Thanks again WD! I appreciate such kind words.

Very beautiful Matt! Especially love how soft the distant hills are.
Island in the wildernes is an absolute classic to me. The first Bob Ross painting I ever tried (and failed gloriously lol). Got to give this one another go some time
