I wanted to paint a scene I have never done before…a desert.
I didn’t want a full oval so I modified it. In my prep, before putting the Cont-act paper, I spayed some acrylic colors with a fan brush & a knife, on that part. I tried to match at best the colors that would be next to it on the painting. Just wanted a cool section, not just plain ol’ white.
I really had fun painting this one. Pastel & happy colors + earthy ones… the best of both worlds!

Very nice Nancy. I would like to do this one again myself. My first version I wasn't able to make ovals yet so I definitely want to try it with the oval

Thank you so much Tom! I didn’t expect much from it at the beginning since a desert scene is something I have never done before. It turned out much better than I thought. BTW, I am planning on doing “Winter Woods” from Bill Alexander this Saturday. I am really excited about it!

Really well done Nancy :) the colors are beautiful and I like the rock formations. I’m not a huge fan of desert scenes myself but this one is really good :)
