A Walk in the Woods

bob_ross_watercolors 17 Jul 2019

I committed at LEAST two Bob Ross sins. One is I looked at the finished drawing first (here on TwoInchBrush!) and the other was sketching the scene out in pencil first. I learned that sometimes the picture here is cropped, because I didn't even know about the big puddle/lake in the foreground and I didn't leave room for it :)

I enjoyed this first attempt at a watercolor Bob Ross scene, but it is challenging. With watercolors you go from light to dark so I had to do a lot of things out of order (and that's why I looked at the finished drawing first). I hope to do better with Mt. McKinley and beyond!

Fantastic work! I was waiting for the first person to start uploading watercolors!
Great job catching the feeling while working with the "limitations" of watercolors.

Have you seen Dave Usher on YouTube? He posts videos of him painting in watercolors, oils and acrylics.
