Evergreens at Sunset

Mgiese84 09 May 2022

I had been putting this one off for quite a while but today was the day I decided to do it. I went in not expecting too much. I thought for sure I was headed for a disaster in the sky. But when I got it all done it actually didn’t come out too bad.

Beautiful and I love the "up" trees!

Thanks Sandy

Looks great Matt. Did you under paint with the yellow acrylic and mask off a circle for the sun in the same way as Bob? The foreground trees are excellent.

Thanks Rah! And yea I did do it as Bob did painting the entire canvas with yellow acrylic and then masked off the sun

This is far and away my favorite painting that Bob has ever done. One of the many reasons is he's never done a sky the same way in any other painting. My first attempt at this one was pretty early in my learning to paint. I think I'm going to tackle this one again sometime this year.

Thanks Mitty! It's definitely totally different working on a dry canvas
