I think this is one of only a couple paintings in the entire JOP series that Bob uses phthalo green in the sky. I think it’s very pretty and a unique technique Bob uses to blend the sky out. The ocean is very simple so if you’re having trouble with seascapes this is the one for you.
Thank you Sandy
Really nice and the boat looks great.
Thanks Brian
I like this one but never attempted it.
I would recommend if painting is still wet to remove that bright dividing wave straight at the horizon line (on the right, till it meets the mountain) and then gently blend the border with the sky with small soft brush. You will get incredible depth of scene this way. Also on the photo it looks like there is rain in the distance, so horizon shall be more obscured and no white foam shall be seen there.
The rest is fantastic, level of details on the boat and shore make the viewer to go down to the beach taking the eyes into the painting.
Here is the link to see what i tried to explain.

Thanks Sunny. Yea the photo just appears it looks like it’s raining. The uploads sometimes distort things a lot bit.
At least rain effect is nice distort, I always get a very pronounced zebra.
Lol I know what ya mean. It bugs me lol
