This is my fifth oil painting ,well actually 5 1/2, cause I had to start over on this one. I had never used liquid clear before and I had slathered it on pretty thick, so about half way through the video when he said 'use just a small amount, the jar should last a year', it was too late. When I put my paint on the liquid clear, it ran right off the canvas. Yuck. I went ahead and finished on the bad canvas just for the practice and then started over and did this one. (I wiped the old canvas off and will use it when I try something with black gesso).

Indeed, one can easily overdo the amount of liquid clear.
When applying a THIN layer, also whipe it gently after that with some tissue or household paper.
Good luck on your future endeavours!
