When I finished Bob’s version of this painting late last year it also had a bush-fire sky- too much brown-orange- yellow-red for me, so I tried to at least make the sky blue - resulting in a green sky. I shook my head, didn’t bother loading it up and walked away. After many nights and many glasses, I thought that seeing as this was the theme painting for the series and Bob said how much he loved the little animation at the start, why not turn it into a fun painting and incorporate that animation. Of course the ‘HONK-HONK’ needed a source, and what better source than Jed and his family in the circa 1920 Oldsmobile driving out of the backwoods on their way to Beverley Hills; so I added that yesterday. Hope you like it.
Thanks Alex, it was also missing that 'You know me, just time to paint in the foreground, an almighty great ....' Bob!
Really cool and I agree with Alex!
I really love it Dave
haha I used to love watching the Clampetts when I was a kid. I remember that truck with them all piled in it and yours turned out really well. The best part though is Bob, you've done fantastic job on that little character, he's instantly recognisable and Bob would have loved it!
This is the cutest!!
What a superb idea to paint Bob and his car from the intro!
That car looks like a million and Bob is so recognizable. WONDERFUL creation!!!
This is awesome and very creative!
Thanks for your comments Alex, Brian, Matt, TLP, Voy and Sandy. I reckon Bob is up there looking down and having a good old belly laugh at this painting; as well as being pleased with himself that his dream of the "Joy of Painting" is still alive and continuing to spread. Cheers
He probably checks out 2”B every chance he gets! Thanks Dave. And thanks Felix!
I love this so much!!!!!!
Thank you Jessie
.... It was a fun addition to this painting

This is super cool. Well done and creative. I think you really captured Bob's pose, too.
