Winter Glow

Voy Kay 18 Jan 2022

The horror, season 1!
Gosh, Bob is flying through the episodes and not always giving, or mostly a bit late, info about what he's going to do or what colours (and amounts) to use.
Not forgetting to mention the Muzak for 28 minutes on the background, carefully silenced when Bob speaks but tuned up when he's silent!
GRRRRRRR!!

Okay, so, wanted to paint this one for the sky!
Canvas used was a budget 12"x16". Easiest parts were ..... perhaps the snow banks and the fence. Though parts were getting distincting into snow foliage. I guess I should've been more violent there since my front bushes left and right are not good.
I disliked the idea of a cabin so chose a dead tree instead. After all, cabins are made from dead trees, right??!!

Please enjoy!

Lol Voy love your commentary.
I like the softness of the painting and all the trees, including the dead one that is designated to one day become a cabin 😁😉

Nice glow in the sky Voy. To me that dead tree is not dead but just waiting for spring that is coming tomorrow. It got rid of the snow on its brunches (maybe a moose helped with it) and now it is ready to welcome spring time. Maybe in a month it will be blooming with flowers.

Indeed Umagaan, season 1 holds quite some soft paintings from Bob.

I absolutely did not wanted a cabin there, or it should have been on the left side. I believe the tree was a much better choice!

Till next one my friend!

You should see it in real Sunnylady, that sky is twice better! Why do pictures give us such poor results at times!!

I actually thought about it, to have some snow on the (bigger) branches but opted against it since most of the tree had no dark background. And since those tiny branches won't hold snow anyway .... my decision was easy!

But I LOVE you moose story ten times better!! 👍💖

Photos can be very upsetting versus real thing. First of dark/lightness and white balance alteration by camera and second because of compression. Somehow smaller the size of canvas worse the photo.

@ Sunnylady. It helps to use a more complex camera but only little, my experience.
Light influence does a lot but I like to photograph only with natural light.
I would get (much) better results with artificial light though!

Pietro1963 Master of Monsters

Thanks Matt, sending some warmth and energy to ya!!

I totally agree on season 1 and the Muzak. 🤮
If they hadn’t ditched that he may have gone nowhere.
Nice work on this, the sky blending and trees are looking good!

Ah Debbie, to know that I can work with people around but need silence around me. Meaning people can talk, no worries, but to have some 'djingle djangle' for hours around my head. Grrrrrr!!

So glad you like it! Till next one!

Season one is a strange animal isn't it!? This turned out very lovely Voy!

Indeed Pam, and Bob hardly ever smiled, he was so focused on painting and trying to find his comfort.
I'm happy you like it!!
