Decided round New Year to paint all hazy background paintings from Bob, and this is one of them.
Canvas used was a budget 12"x16" and I was very pleased with the size, smaller would have been a disaster with the big brushes.
Easiest part .... I guess all the trees, the snow, the sky .... about everything. There are few difficulties here or it is to keep the foliage under control, quantity and color wise.
Please enjoy!
Thank you Sunnylady. I was pretty wild about the result as well, and that for a speed painting of 60 minutes!
nice V..great forest w/some spiritual light in the distance. The trees as soldiers in the mist ,guarding the spirits dwelling..Stay safe my friend.I will be in touch shortly.Cheers.P
@Voy Impressive speed!
Thanks Pietro, it does indeed have something mystique, that is why I like those hazy ones so much, AND most are not that hard to paint!!
Till soon!
Well, it has become my normal speed for a 12"x16" Sunnylady. Provided of course that I have seen the entire episode up front, so I know a bit what is coming. I like it that way since I have become hesitant to paint over three hours and so!
and it also means that very soon it will become way too easy for you and will become boring after that. Our brains need a bit of a challenge :) this is how us humans kept happy.
I am so happy to hear about your progression Voy!
I'm so happy to share it with you Sunnylady, and the good people on this site!
Nice Voy! I liked doing this one myself
A beautiful painting! I especially love the colorful highlights on your evergreens!
Indeed Matt, yours had those nice blueish evergreens and that rich foliage!! Thanks for appreciating!
Thanks for commeting Pam.
yes, I paid attention to have three kinds of highlights on those evergreens and that worked out! Bob did those evergreens with an oval brush but I took a small waverbrush instead, because of the smaller canvas used.
Soft and warm and very nice to look at!
Beautiful, the sky and highlights really set it off.
Indeed Jos, and this is just a picture. In real, it looks twice as nice!
Yes Debbie, it's what Bob intended yet didn't speak out, and that is to bring those highlights to harmony with the light. Therefor I use three different kind of highlights in this creation, and it worked!
Guna, so great to read your comment!
I love those hazy and distant bright skies. My next will be a bit similar. And yes, around hour is the norm for a smaller canvas AND with the episode prepared/viewed up front.

The bigger canvas shows immediately who is in control! Great colors and trees Voy!
