I had this heartformed canvas almost a year now and since we don't really celebrate Valentine here (in my household), I had the idea to use it for Bob's New York creation since the apple shape compares a little with the heart shape, my humble opinion.
Budget canvas used was a 12"x12" in the shape of a heart. Hardest part here were the buildings where, do the small size of the canvas and my dominant hand hampering, I wasn't able to use the knife to the full so I used a brush instead at times.
I think my bushes and trees are amongst the better I produced so in all, I am VERY pleased with how this creation turned out.
What about you?
Pam, your comment is a feast for my eyes and old soul!
So happy you agree this shape fits this creation!
Very nice Voy. I thought you did a nice job on the bridge too.
He he Matt, the bridge, like some of the buildings, had to be partially done with a brush as well. The contour was made with a knife, the filling and highlighting with a brush. The fine lighting was done with a scriptliner.
Most of this due to the fact that I cannot do precision works with my dominant hand.
Even in close up, all of it shows as a delicate work so I am a happy person indeed!!
Love the heart shape ! Good job.
Thanks Patrizia!
Those shapes can be bought at a local budget store for about 3 or 4 dollars only. The frame is strong but the canvas needs at least two extra layers of white gesso!
nice view of central park. I am a new yorker, even that i left the city 18 yrs ago.
Thanks for commenting Jayne!
Only once I went to New York, April 2012, for six days and we visitied as much as possible. Unfortunately the Moma was closed at the time but Central park was worth the afternoon we had spent there.
I hope to return one day!!
