I went along with Bob and did his crazy background. So this one requires you to do the wood background effect first and then come back and do the painting. The painting itself wasn't too complicated. It turned out pretty neat and I'm glad I took the time and did the background. I posted a couple progress photos for everyone.
Great idea! It looks in harmony with the painting inside of the wooden frame.
'Perfect!!!
Very nice, even the part without the wood effect, want to try this one too ...
Thanks everyone!
Gorgeous!
What was it like doing the wood grain effect? Reason I ask is I’m doing something similar to a painting in progress where it looks like I’m framing it in wood.
Mitty, It actually worked pretty nicely. I also did another one of these with the wood type background (except with brown tones). Biggest advice I'd have for you is be sure to use enough paint thinner on your brush when you make the grain effects. If you don't have enough it won't react with the liquid clear properly.
Wow! Amazing sky! Love the main tree and how it’s in and out of the painting with the grass below! Great work
Thanks Gareth!
I am in love with that tree! Beautiful painting!
Thanks so much Ellen
This is really beautiful. The colors and design in the wood grain are fantastic.
Thanks very much Forest
